About Concrete Hermit

Concrete Hermit started online in 2004, developing from founder Chris Knight's interest in how art finds its way into society, whether through traditional galleries, stickers on the street, graffiti, the internet, T-shirt graphics or advertising. The idea was to become a self sustaining, independent outlet for creative projects, products and ideas.

The Concrete Hermit Gallery/shop opened in east London in 2007. The space provides a retail base – selling Concrete Hermit products and a selection of prints, books, badges and artwork from local and international artists.

At the gallery we curate a program of exhibitions that changes regularly and we encourage the artists to experiment with structure and installation. The space gives them freedom to expand on their work and present it in new formats. For each exhibition we try to produce a limited edition T-shirt or print, which are then sold online and in the gallery.
