Award winning artist Gary Taxali debuts his first UK solo show, “My Feelings Like You” at The Outsiders Gallery run by Steve Lazarides. The show runs from May 4th to June 2nd, 2012.
Gary’s trademark style posseses a nostalgic feel with a modern sensibility traditionally described as pop art but is actually a reinvention and reimagination of pop art blending low brow with fine art. Gary is influenced by art, typography, iconography and popular culture from the 1930s.
Gary uses oils and a variety of techniques including screenprinting, drawings, inks, pencil, stamps, etchings, marks and various unlikely surfaces such as old books covers and other canvases that are “accidentally beautiful”. In My Feelings Like You, Gary will be including one of his largest pieces at 152 x 203 cm.
